Grounded Legal Intelligence
Lexploria builds grounded legal intelligence: legal research tools that keep users close to sources, citations, document structure and the relationships between legal materials.
Lexploria develops legal research environments for working with complex legal materials. The platform combines structured legal data, citation relationships, search, document reading and analytics to help users move from search results to legal context more quickly.
Our work is grounded in the legal corpus itself: source documents, metadata, citations, paragraph structure and traceable relationships between instruments and decisions.
Legal research cannot be reduced to generic text generation. Useful legal technology must preserve the path back to the source: what document is being read, which provisions or paragraphs matter, how one legal text relates to another, and where uncertainty remains.
That is the idea behind Lexploria’s direction: intelligent legal tools that assist research while keeping legal sources, provenance and user judgment at the centre.
Lexploria’s current work includes European Union law, European human rights law, citation analytics and specialist research products developed around structured legal materials.
Future product development will continue to connect search, reading, analytics and AI-assisted legal research in a way that remains source-aware and citation-backed.
The founder, Vito De Lucia, PhD, is Professor at the Faculty of Law of UiT – The Arctic University of Norway.
Vito also has a significant background in IT, having been involved in different roles in successful startups such as Zoomit and Kelkoo. He has also worked for Yahoo, which acquired Kelkoo in 2004 for the then record sum of $576 million, where he was Director of User Experience and Design for the Commerce properties for Europe, as well as for Opera Software.
Yunpeng Han, system development, data engineering and machine learning. Yun has built the database structure and the data processing and machine learning algorithms powering LEXPLORIA.
Michal Debowski, full stack developer, works on back-end integration and front-end development, including machine learning and front-end generative AI integration.
Ketil Sundelin, CEO. Ketil has recently taken the role of CEO to move sales and business development to the next level. He is also one of the founders of Fyrin Network and has long experience as an innovation entrepreneur.

Bård Hall, board member, innovation entrepreneur, founder, business developer and CEO of startup Literate AS.
LEXPLORIA has received two rounds of funding from Innovation Norway and angel and pre-seed investment from the Northern Norwegian investment network Fyrin, as well as from other private investors.
